Laksa Sarawak is an acquired taste. You may not like it right away the first time you have it, but as soon as you start loving it, you'll be addicted to it. I have to say that Mom's Laksa  serves one of the best Laksa's in Kuching.
The broth is extremely rich. Lots of chicken and prawns/shrimps.
The price is super affordable, just around RM6-RM8.
This is one of the Best Laksa i ever tried and we believed you will call this Laksa.

 Map of the Muara Restaurant

This is the original restaurant at Miri Waterfront Commercial Centre. There’s another newer establishment in Miri but the first Muara Restaurant is located at a much more appealing location – it’s right beside the river!

Nasi Lalapan

Nasi Lalapan is an Indonesian dish that’s very popular in Miri. We went to Muara Restaurant based on friend’s recommendation to check out this unique incarnation of Indonesian cuisine. Nasi Lalapan is basically a dish of vegetables, tofu and meat arranged around a unique sambal based sauce. You can choose the meat that goes with your nasi lalapan – there’s everything from chicken to prawn. The rice is served separately on a plate and there’s also a bowl of soup to go with your meal.

 Nasi Lalapan Ikan Keli

Muara Restaurant has really good nasi lalapan. You can determine the authenticity of the food based on how many Indonesians visit the joint and the spicy tang of the sambal goes very well with the vegetables and meat. The dishes range from RM 8 – RM 15 depending on what you choose.

Ayam Pansuh Lepau, Kuching.

  Lepau Restaurant, Kuching

Address :
082-242 160
The 4 of us went to Lepau Restaurant - a restaurant serving authentic Kayan cuisine. The staff was very helpful, and was careful with our orders. She also came back to ask us for feedback of the food, which we provided willingly. She also introduced us to the proprietor of the restaurant, a Kayan lady by the name of Roslyn.

Ayam Pansuh
The soup was very delicious, the meat tender. We commented on the lack of tapioca leaves in the dish. The staff told us that tapioca leaves were just stuffed into the bamboo receptacle as a cover, and not used as an ingredient by itself to cook the dish. She offered to bring us more tapioca leaves. The dish price around RM15-RM20.

 Nasi Bungkus
Fragrant and soft, I would love it to be hotter. The price range around RM5-RM7
Umai
Tasted good! There are many variations to umai. One can use boneless sea fish such as tenggiri, bawal (duwei in Sarawak), prawn, or even salted ikan terubok. The price range for this dish around RM10-RM15
